About Organic Pasteurization

The FDA, USDA and the California Almond Board mandate that all almonds must be pasteurized. Organically grown almonds are included in this change.

 

Purity Organics is complying with this mandate.

 

Our organic pasteurization process minimizes the potential changes to our organically grown almonds.

 

We apply steam to our almonds for a few seconds. Then, just enough heat to dry them off.

 

No chemicals. No sprays. Nothing but water and heat. Organic pasteurization.

 

What we're doing to reverse this mandate

We are pursing litigation with other farmers and handlers to exclude organic almonds from this pasteurization mandate. Help us overcome this mandate.
